Between
September 1995 and December 2005, MAIC has been able to provide
children's hospitals in Iraq with medicines and medical equipment
worth over £2.3m.
Shipment #1 -- Medicines and surgical supplies delivered
in Sep. 1995 (total cost £54,600.00 approximately);
Shipment #2 -- Two Vickers incubators delivered in
Dec. 1995 (total cost £10,500.00 approximately);
Shipment #3 -- 3 Drager incubators delivered in Feb.
1996 (total cost £12,000.00 approximately);
Shipment #4 -- Medicines and surgical supplies delivered
in Aug.1996 (total cost £72,800.00 approximately);
Shipment #5 -- Medicines, mainly anti-cancer drugs,
third generation antibiotics and lactose free milk delivered
in March 1997 (total cost £36,500.00 approximately);
Shipment #6 -- 2 Drager incubators delivered in May
1997 (total cost £10,000.00 approximately);
Shipment #7 -- Medicines and surgical supplies delivered
in Sept. 1997 (total cost £72,000.00 approximately);
Shipment #8 -- 12 Drager incubators delivered in Dec.
1997 (total cost £55,000.00 approximately).
Shipment #9 -- Medicines, surgical supplies and three
Drager Incubators delivered in May 1998 (total cost £
100,000.00 approximately).
Shipment #10 -- Medicines and surgical supplies (cost
£ 224,722.00). A Radiometer ABL625 and its Re-agents
(cost £42,730.00) both consignments delivered in March
1999 (Total cost 267,452.00 approximately).
Shipment #11 -- Medicines and surgical supplies delivered
in Oct. 1999 (Total cost £ 102,700.00 approximately).
Shipment #12 -- Three bed paediatric intensive care
unit. Deliveries commenced in Dec. 1999 and completed August
2000. (Total cost £ 127.000.00 approximately).
Shipment #13 -- Medicines and surgical supplies delivered
in November 2000 (Total cost £231,000.00 approximately).
Shipment #14 -- 3 bed paediatric ICU delivery in progress
commencing October 2000 (Total cost £115,000.00 approximately).
Shipment #15 -- Medicines, surigical equipment, Ohmada
Oxygen Tent and medical books delivered on 28th August 2001.(Total
cost £107,059.00 approximately).
Shipment #16 -- 2 Radiometers ABL625 and their Re-agents(Cost
£95,959.00 approximately). 24 wheelchairs, 100 walking
aids and surgical equipment.(Cost £25,436.00 approximately)
delivered on 29 November 2001. (Total cost £121,395.00
approximately)
Shipment #17 -- 3 Sirecust Portable Heart Monitors
and 1 Multiview Workstation (total cost £38,568) delivered
on 3rd April 2002.
Shipment #18 -- Medicines, mainly anticancer drugs,
third generation antibiotics, anti-viral and anti-fungal drugs,
vitamins, minerals, steroids, anti-convulsants and cardiac
drugs (cost £126,292.36) and consumables for Radiometer
ABL625 (cost £21,610.53) delivered on 10th August 2002
(total cost £159,000.00 approximately).
Shipment #19 -- Medical supplies, mainly antibiotics,
cancer drugs and surgical items. Funded through MAIC mainstream
account. The consignment along with Shipment 20 was transported
for free by Virgin Atlantic Airlines and delivered to the
coalition forces in Basra on 2nd May 2003 for distribution
to the recipient hospitals. (Total cost £144,890.98)
Shipment #20 -- Medical supplies; 200 wheelchairs for
both children and adults, 300 pairs of crutches for children
and adults, baby milk, soya milk and stands for transfusions.
Funded through MAIC's Emergency War Relief Fund. The consignment
with Shipment 19 was delivered to Basra on 2nd May 2003 to
the coalition forces for distribution. (Total cost £56,520.00).
Shipment #21 -- Medical supplies, 2 complete medical
kits in accordance with WHO specifications, baby and soya
milk. Funded through Emergency War Relief Fund and delivered
19th August 2003. (Total cost £128,790.00).
Shipment #22 - 4 Drager Incubators and 4 Drager Resuscitators,
delivered in February 2004. (Total Cost £50,743.50).
Shipment #23 - Medical supplies: 600 TB testing kits,
infant and neonatal laryngoscopes and magnifying loupes used
in surgery. These supplies were delivered by hand by MAIC's
members between April and September 2004. (Total cost £3,499.00)
Shipment #24 - Medical supplies: antibiotics, cancer
drugs, steroids, surgical items, wheelchairs and crutches
delivered in December 2004. (Total cost £126,100.00)
Shipment #25 - MAIC delivered 68 packs of dietary supplement
(Maxamum powder), valued at £3,145.00, to help in the
treatment of Marwan Bashir. They were delivered in London
prior to travel to Basrah.
Shipment #26 - MAIC responded to a request from the
Al-Mansour Paediatric Teaching Hospital in Baghdad to send
spare parts needed for equipment in MAIC's intensive care
unit at the hospital. This shipment, valued at £18,782.00,
was delivered in June 2005.

#27 - MAIC delivered a small shipment of diagnostic equipment,
such as spectophometer, electrocardiograph and surgery microscopes
in August 2005. (Total cost £9,260.63)

#28 - Biomerieux Mini-Vidas and reagents, clinical laboratory
products for microbiology and infectious disease diagnostics
delivered in October 2005. (Total cost £20,829.00)

#29 - Medical supplies, in particular, antibiotics and
cancer treatment were delivered in November 2005 (Total cost
£71,269.00)
Shipment
#30 - Partec Flow Cytometer, for analysis of blood and
tissue samples especially used in the field of leukaemia and
other blood diseases, various types of cancers and infectious
diseases. The machine was delivered in December 2005. (Total
costs £36,700,00)

#31 - Reagents and electrodes for a radiometer machine
and was delivered to Baghdad, Iraq on 21 April 2006. (Total
cost £7,474.00)
Shipment #32 - Medical supplies which included 2 bilirubin
analysers and a microscope (value £31,264.40). Six pulse
oximeters, 4 operating tables and bone marrow needles (value
£51,830.00). Anti-cancer drugs and antibiotics (value
£38,914.35). Antibiotics, IV sets and surgical supplies
(value £18,628.90). One year's supply of the nutritional
supplement Maxamum Powder for a young patient (value £5,250.00).
Mobility equipment including wheelchairs and crutches (value
£24,570.00). Antibiotics, vitamins & minerals and
lactose free infant formula (value £14,556.40). The
total value of the shipment was £185,014.05 excluding
transportation costs which amounted to £34,637.06 for
airfreight and delivery.

#33 - 13,500 empty blood bags and a centrifuge machine
delivered in March 2007 (total cost £25,621 plus shipping
cost of £2,445).

delivered in May 2007 (cost £65,753).

#36 - Medicines including anti-cancer drugs, infant milk
and anti-epilepsy drugs (total cost £40,074.79). Surgical
equipment (total cost £86,618.60). Medical supplies
for a prosthetic centre (total cost £52,749.80). Medical
supplies including surgical and diagnostic equipment (total
cost £30,065). The total value of the shipment was £209,508.19.
Delivered in December 2007.
